City Council Heads Straight Into Closed Session

City Council moved quickly into executive session on August 11, 2026, after confirming it had a quorum. The only clear action in the available notes was a move into a closed meeting to seek confidential legal advice, which means any public decisions tied to that discussion were not shown in the excerpt provided.

Closed Session Called At Start Of Meeting

After calling the meeting to order, officials said they had enough members present to proceed, despite two council members being absent. The council then recessed into executive session under the Texas Government Code for confidential legal advice from the city attorney. Residents watching for public action would not have heard that legal discussion in open session.

Based on the available notes, the main confirmed development was the council’s decision to enter closed session. No vote, direction, or public action after that was included in the excerpt, so it remains unclear whether any issue returned to open session for discussion or action later in the meeting.
